Based at our offices in Leicester with over 30 employees covering a multitude of different disciplines, you will work on prestigious projects from large industrial and commercial schemes with contract values over £30 million to smaller schemes. You will also work with interesting clients including, large retail / leisure companies, banks, developers / landlords, Churches in addition to local authorities, Schools / Universities and contractors etc.
About the Role:
You will work within the Cost Consultancy Team managing and planning costs on a variety of construction projects, from inception to completion liaising closely with clients, the project team and contractors.
You will be responsible for providing cost advice on a variety of building projects, including providing cost estimates from feasibility through to detailed design and throughout the construction period.
The role will require you to be the key point of contact with our prestigious clients, therefore a high level of communication skills and commercial awareness are essential for being successful in this role.
•Consulting with architects, builders and engineers, financiers, developers and owners
•Preparing preliminary / detailed cost estimates (from feasibility through to detailed design)
•Providing advice on procurement strategy, contract selection, risk management, value engineering and the overall tendering process
•Preparing tender and contract documentation and advising clients on tenders when received
•Administrating construction contracts including providing advice on contractual matters / procedures, valuing completed work and approving progress payments
•Monitor changes in design and measure, value and negotiates variations
•Budget management and cost reporting to the client
•Agreeing final accounts / preparing final cost statements
•Producing Monitoring Surveying Reports for a variety of Banks
Experience and Qualifications:
•Degree qualification (RICS accredited or equivalent)
•Preferably MRICS Chartered
•Consultancy experience preferred but contractor based considered
•Employer’s Agent work an advantage
